Youth Outreach Workers help youth to establish safer, healthier lifestyles. Workers address immediate needs, and provide linkages to community services and resources. We can liaison with staff at the high schools, and connect youth and parents with off island services. Our Youth Outreach Workers also facilitate girls and boys groups at the schools, attend teen drop-ins and organize youth workshops and community education events throughout the year.
Youth Outreach workers can help with:
We work from a harm reduction model. We provide free youth support and advocacy, information and education on alcohol/drug use, and party safe information.
We provide sexual health info (plus free condoms) and speak with youth about healthy relationships and teach awareness on sexual exploitation issues.
We support youth who are struggling with school or relationship challenges and connect youth to community resources (on or off island) and healthy activities.
Below are three pamphlets provided by CASEY Comox Valley – Community Against Sexual Exploitation of Youth. Click on the name to open each pamphlet.
