Comox Valley Better at Home

 

The Comox Valley Better at Home program helps seniors with simple day-to-day tasks, allowing them to maintain independence and stay connected with their community. Comox Valley Better at Home services are delivered by paid staff contractors and volunteers.

Current Services Include:

  • Light housekeeping

  • Transportation to essential appointments

  • Grocery shopping

  • Meal delivery

  • Information and referral to other services for older adults


Am I eligible? How do I sign up?

If you are an older adult living in the Comox Valley and are having difficulty with some essential tasks, you can apply by contacting Kris at Comox Valley Better at Home at (250)-871-1165 or email Kris.

Please be aware that some services have waiting lists.


Who Funds Better at Home Services?

The BC Ministry of Health funds the United Way to manage Better at Home programs throughout the province. Hornby Denman Health manages the local program, accepts donations, raises funds, and encourages volunteer participation for Comox Valley Better at Home.

Some seniors who receive Better at Home services will pay a fee for certain services, depending on their income. Some services have no cost. Any fees or money raised is fed back into the local program to serve more people.
